We would like to invite you to an important information session on the recent changes to the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and related legal requirements, following the implementation of the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020.

Date: Wednesday 23rd April
Time: 1:30pm – 3:00pm
Venue: The Gateway, 20-22 King Street, Bathgate, EH48 1AX (In-person and online attendance available)
Speaker: Duncan Steele from Volunteer Scotland

This session is essential for PVG Signatories and organisations that work with children, young people, and protected adults in Scotland. Duncan Steele from Volunteer Scotland will provide a clear overview of the key changes under the Disclosure Act and what they mean for your organisation.

Key topics include:

  • The introduction of regulated roles (replacing ‘regulated work’)
  • The new legal requirement for PVG scheme membership
  • 3-month grace period for existing staff (1st April – 30th June)
  • Simpler disclosure products and improved rights for individuals
  • Disclosure Scotland’s new powers to impose conditions

It is vital that all organisations understand and comply with these new legal requirements.
